How to use our Auctions

99% of the auction layout is very simple, but there are a few things that you need to know before starting.

The first is that AOL doesn't like us. If you have an AOL email you will most likely not receive the confirmation email that you need to receive before you can log on to our auctions - for both buying and selling. Some other email services will automatically put your confirmation email into the trash - so do check there if you use Yahoo, Hotmail or other online mail services.

If you do have problems with this you can email me and we can see if we can resolve it for you by confirming you manually - but as that ads to my administration duties I'd much rather you try a friendlier email provider first! You will need to be able to receive emails so that you know when your auctions ends and who the winner is.

We have tested and found that although Yahoo appearently does not get the confirmation email, once you are manually registered it DOES receive all other emails.

Once you have received the confirmation email and clicked the confirm link you can then start bidding and selling!

Selling is easy - just click on the "sell" link and follow the instructions. It is all on one page, just make sure you fill out each section correctly.

Buying is easy too! Just put the price you want to bid in, and then it will ask you for your login and password and you are done!

All auctions will be free for January. This will give us a chance to put it fully to the test and see how you go with it. From February it will cost you a flat rate of 20 cents per auction - that is ALL!

The system for paying for your auction is different as well. You make an account and upload funds (via paypal) to your account. Then, each time you make an auction the fee for the auction comes out of your account until you have used up all the funds. It will then ask you to upload more. I suggest you don't upload more then $5 to start with. And you need not do this until February anyway! Unlike eBay we don't have an invoicing system. You receive an email telling you that your auction is over and the buyers details, and it is then up to you to contact them to arrange payment. The buyer also receives an email telling them that they have won.

Start buying and selling NOW!

Hopefully all will run smoothly! But if you have any problems please email me.

Have fun!
