Thick Embossing Demo by Eliza

Stuff you will need - some card, a stamp, (I used the maple leaf, Stamping Bug number 409) a stamp pad (doesn't matter what color), embossing stamp pad, sissors, embossing powder (I used red, gold and clear), embossing gun and, if you like to, a cardboard box to stop everything going everywhere |
Stamp your design onto the card and cut out around the edge. I failed cutting out at kindergarden. |
Stamp with embossing pad and cover with embossing powder. Shake off and melt with embossing gun. |
Doing it in a box stops the unstuck powder from going everywhere. Just don't burn your box! |
I gave two coats of red before going to gold - I want the gold to be a highlight only, so I have only sprinkled it on a little bit. |
It's best to do several at once so that as one is drying/cooling you can do another. After the gold I gave it 3 coats of clear embossing powder. |
Now I have a forest of little leaves to use as decorations! You can build these up as thick as you like by just continuing with the embossing powder. If you use the Ultra Thick embossing powder you won't need so many layers. I use 6 layers if I'm going to stick onto a card - but think of other things you can do, Christmas decorations anyone? |
