Where: Kate's Frame & Art Gallery, 1 North Sixth Ave., Clarion, PA 16214 USA Kate's is a well established gallery in western Pennsylvania owned by artist Kate Hufnagel. Kate's provides a climate controlled, secure and insured environment for the display of art and is the site of frequent displays of public and private art. Our last major exhibition attracted over 400 visitors and showed 158 pieces of art.
When: Entries must be received by August 1, 2005 to assure ample time to prepare displays. The exhibition will be open to the public from August 8 through August 15, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. weekdays and at least 10:00am to 2:00 pm on weekend.
Admission Requirements: All entries should relate to the Jazz/Art/Blues theme. All entries must be prepared to safely and legally transport through first class mail; however, we will accept entries sent via other overland carriers. Loose items (threads, leaf, buttons, charms, tokens, glitter, etc) should be firmly adhered to the surface of the card and we will not be held responsible for any damage incurred in transmission of the articles. All entries should be sent with self addressed mailing labels to be used when returning articles to you. ATC's may not exceed 2 1/2" X 3 1/2" X 1/4". The best ATC's are finished with designs on the fronts and backs of the cards.
Entry information: ATC's included in this exhibition must be received with a separate listing that includes the following: Artist's name, address, phone, and email address (when available). Follow this with a listing of the ATC's by title / description and indicate each card on the list with a notation (either swap, donate or sell -with a price). By convention, ATC's are made to be given or exchanged freely. This is often done at swap meets, or by sight-unseen transmission to fellow artists (making the daily mail full of delightful surprises).
We encourage the free trade of ATC's, and any card indicated on your master list with the word "swap" will be passed on to another entrant at the end of the exhibition in exchange for another artist's ATC.
Artist's who wish to sell their ATC's may list the card "sell" with a price (in American dollars, please). To this price we will add a $1.00 handling fee for each card sold; we will retain the handling fee to help underwrite the cost of this exhibition and postage of returned cards.
Artists who are willing to donate their ATC's are encouraged to do so by marking "donate" on the back of the card. Donated cards will be used by the show sponsor to promote, advertise or otherwise support this exhibition and future card swaps and exhibitions.. Donated cards are given freely without expectation of response, but it is understood that the artist reserves copyright on the original images for any purpose or use other than that stated above.
Return of Entries: All entries received from the United States of America will be returned - or matched by a "swap" entry from another artist - via the United States Postal Service. All foreign entrants who require the return of their art will be required to provide the compensation for return postage before we can mail back their entries or "swap" cards.
